Terms of Service

Last updated: 21 March 2026

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of ChronoKit at chronokit.io and related APIs. By using ChronoKit you agree to these Terms.

1. The Service

ChronoKit provides time, calendar, astronomy, and related tools for informational purposes. We offer both a free tier and a paid Pro subscription. The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind.

2. Accounts

You may sign in using your GitHub or Google account. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure. You must be at least 16 years old to create an account.

3. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

  • Attempt to circumvent rate limits or API access controls
  • Use automated means to scrape or bulk-download data beyond what the API allows
  • Reverse-engineer or interfere with the service infrastructure
  • Use the service for any illegal purpose or in violation of applicable law

4. Developer API

Free accounts may make up to 100 API requests per day. Pro accounts may make up to 10,000 requests per day. Enterprise limits are agreed separately. API keys must not be shared publicly. We reserve the right to revoke keys that violate these Terms.

5. Subscriptions & Payment

Pro subscriptions are billed monthly via Stripe. You may cancel at any time; your access continues until the end of the current billing period. We do not offer refunds for partial months. Prices are shown in USD and may be subject to local taxes.

6. Embeddable Widgets

You may embed ChronoKit widgets on any website free of charge, provided you do not remove or obscure the ChronoKit attribution. Commercial redistribution or white-labelling of widgets requires a written agreement.

7. Intellectual Property

All content, design, and source code of ChronoKit is owned by ChronoKit and protected by copyright. You may not reproduce, redistribute, or create derivative works without written permission, except as expressly allowed by these Terms.

8. Accuracy of Information

Astronomical calculations, time zone data, and calendar information are provided for informational purposes only. While we strive for accuracy, ChronoKit is not liable for decisions made based on information from the service. For critical timing (aviation, medicine, legal deadlines), always consult authoritative sources.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, ChronoKit is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

10. Service Availability

We aim for high availability but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may modify, suspend, or discontinue features at any time. We will endeavour to give reasonable notice of significant changes.

11. Termination

We may terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms. You may delete your account at any time from your account settings. Upon termination, your data will be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

12. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Netherlands. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the Netherlands.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of ChronoKit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. The “Last updated” date at the top indicates when changes were last made.
